It's never too early or late to learn an instrument
Instrumental lessons are now being given through zoom video links. Current pupils have been sent the relevant information, and prospective pupils can register by emailing me or completing the form for schools below. The return to face-to-face school teaching could take a long time due to the small size of most teaching rooms, and schools probably not wanting extra people in until things are more normal. This means that I can't take on any new pupils at the moment so I keep enough time free to teach children outside school hours once they return to the classrooms.
Kirsty provides woodwind lessons up to grade 5 on flute, recorder, clarinet, oboe, and alto saxophone, and up to grade 8 on bassoon. She is a specialist in early grades and young learners and has pupils from as young as 5 years old, as well as adult pupils.
Smaller flautists can start on fife or on special curved head joints, and clarinettists may begin using a lightweight C clarinet such as the Lyons or Clarineo. More details are available once you have expressed an interest.
School lessons are available at Swaffham Prior, Swaffham Bulbeck, Coton and Dry Drayton primary schools. For more information about school lessons please complete this form.
Private lessons take place in Bar Hill, and are usually 30 or 45 minutes long. Pupils are expected to do 5 practices per week, which usually results in progress of around one grade or more per year.
Most children take a break in the shorter holidays, but Kirsty does offer summer holiday lessons to avoid the long break from playing.
